Purple Rain

Prince worried that he’d stolen much of this song from Journey’s hit “Faithfully,” so he called Journey’s keyboardist Jonathan Cain, who’d written that song, to ask for permission before releasing “Purple Rain.” Cain happily absolved Prince of any guilt.
