My Heart Is Broken

Amy Lee came up with the riff on a harp which later was recorded on the piano. The song was inspired by her friend’s experiences of rescuing sex-trafficking victims. She wrote from the victim’s perspective about feeling alone, threatened and trapped in a nightmare.
