Did you know the mess around is just a 12 bar blues? While this song is indeed a challenge to learn and perform, Part 1 gets you half of the way there. Focus on learning the basic boogie bass line and the blues chords in the right hand before moving on to learning all the nitty gritty details in the rest of the sections. This song is especially technically demanding so make sure you’re always practicing small chunks slowly and intentionally and ensuring that your hands are relaxed and comfortable. This can’t be overstated! In any case, enjoy the lesson – this was one of the most challenging lessons I’ve ever recorded 🙂
