This song relies heavily on sidechain compression, an audio effect that essentially ducks the volume of the piano on every beat. This gives the sensation of a heavy ‘four on the floor’ beat, without it actually being there (until it enters later in the song). If you have a third hand, or a friend that enjoys menial tasks, invite them to quickly turn down the volume of your keyboard on every beat to achieve a similar effect.
